Forum Top Five "pet Hates". What're Yours?

Featured Replies

1. People that type LOL. Do they really laugh out loud when they type LOL? Thought it was only spotty teenagers that used it.

2. People that use the word "loose" when they really mean lose.

3. People that use the word "defiantly" when they mean definitely.

4. People who say that we are "guests" in Thailand. That kind of implies that the Thais are hosts and should behave like one.

5. All the tired old cliches such as "sex-tourists can't get women in their own countries", or, "never invest more money in Thailand than you can afford to lose".

On any forum or anywhere else people writing 'breaks' instead of 'brakes'. How can English speaking self declared car experts get this wrong ?

  • Popular Post

People who complane about others speling especailly given the number of people who don't have english as there first language.

Ah a thread for the English teachers to make their own...rolleyes.gif

4,5 are ok and agree fully. 1-3 is a bunch of hogwash difiantly, lol

  • Popular Post

1) people who are uptight about how english is spoken and written

2) thai drivers

3) when you ask a person for directions and they have no clue where your going but still point (usually in the opposite direction) as if they know

4) people who think that unless you have a teaching degree from a western country :your not a "real" teacher

People starting posts with the word "So"; eg - "So, I met this girl on Sukhumvit at 4am. Is she . . . ?"

No problem with it starting sentences elsewhere in the post. Just another annoying trend from the same stable as "like, toad-lee" or "dude".

You might as well stop reading Thaivisa, then.

Ah no ... not exactly, just yours.

Actually I thought that this question would be about animals.

Speaking of which, I just watched the movie 'Marley and Me' ... fun movie and the dog was great.

Fun? FUN? - It was heartbreaking!

Admittedly though, as I love dogs - I always end up in tears when the dog dies.sad.png

People who persist one after another with links/clips of You tube. If I want to watch music videos I'll visit you tube myself.

For those of us on slower connection speeds it really <snip> things up.

Bad Grammer Grammar

The capitalisation after an apostrophe in the title of a thread

The auto-changing B) to a bloody smiley - I mean b ) without the space.

The way I keep on getting stuck with a text editor and no drop down menus.

I'm quite happy with three pet hates; I would struggle to look after any more, and their whining would probably annoy the neighbours

Book is ok, movie is complete dross.

Hachiko is much better.

Must admit i hate LOL , ROTFL ( really ? ) and all the others that you see and not just on here.

One for here must be member fan clubs or mutual appreciation societies that tend to gang up on some posters if they don't suscribe to their view or calling troll, again just because their view is different.

  • Popular Post

Posters who consider themselves forensic scientists when they aren’t.

Posters who think their influence will alter Thai politics

Posters who aren’t good at trolling but repeatedly start threads

OP’s who demand sources for information from posters on their thread who are agreeing with them

but

I defiantly agree that we as guests in Thailand should be careful and never invest more money in the country that we can afford to loose.

We should open our arms to the unfortunate sex-tourists who can’t seem to get women in their own countries and make them feel welcome as they provide income for our hosts, the Thais. If they happen to be spotty teenagers, all the more reason.
