I think this thread should be re-named 'pong balls' and that the game played with them should be simply 'pong'. Similarly, Monty Python should get the machine that goes 'pong' (not 'Ping').

Whereas 'Ping' is normally considered to be an indication that a piece of equipment is active and ready for use, 'Pong' has the connotation of nasty smell, wind blowing from the dunny, rotten fish in Spanish trawlers.

The thing I liked about the video, not commented upon by the lecturer, was the way the containing bin leapt into the air - presumably due to the expansion, then reflex contraction, of the sides of the bin. Many things to consider in this demonstration that the lecturer has apparently missed.
