Looking to buy an E reader for a birthday gift for a Thai lady in Phuket.

I like the new Kindle Paperwhite from Amazon gonna buy one for myself when i return to USA.

but shipping to Thailand seems to be a pain in the toot.

Anyplace in Phuket to buy an e reader over the counter??

Not sure if you can even buy Recent Thai script Novels is it possoble ?

Anybody out there in Phuket purchase and use an e reader in Thailand ?

Hope I can find one or else I'll be buying her an I Pad Yikes..$$$$$$$

I've got the kindle fire it great....great e reader but lets u watch movies look on the internet and is in colour. Don't know phuket well enough to advise where to find...maybe ask local phone shops where to find tablets?

The B2S book store on the top floor of Central Festival sells eBooks. Whilst they might not sell the readers themselves, the staff are likely to know where you could get them.

may i ask how much extra you paid by buying it through Amazon and did you have any Customs/duty fee issues??

It was a couple of years ago and I can't recall exact costs now, but there was a large thread where various people compared costs.

I know it was much cheaper to buy from Amazon, but they did add on transport and customs duty to the bill. The end result was prices were only slightly cheaper.
