Most Popular Bikes In Thailand?

Featured Replies

would like to compile a list of the most popular bikes in Thailand, and hoping for input.

HONDA CRF250L seems really popular at the moment.

HONDA CBR of course.

Kawasaki Ninja, D-Tracker, and KLX

Suzuki DRZ?

Yamaha.. FINO ..lol

Help?!

Thank you!

The older Yamaha SR400 seems to have a cult following.

Many Honda Steed 400 here, so i take it it is popular,

PCX 150 is very popular at the moment

I'm sure there was a thread with sales figures posted within it earlier this year. Perhaps google might be a good place to get more acurate sales figures :)

One without a rear light.tax or insurance! cheesy.gif

Harleys, although outside the pricing that most Thais can afford, would probably be towards the top of a list from conversations I've had with locals.

That is simple

Last month, August sales number in Thailand are out

26,xxx Honda Scoopy sold

19.xxx Honda Waves sold

Under 100 CBR's CRF's and ninja

No new Harleys were sold last month

And last year under 2600 large bikes were sold total

Scoopy! Gives you some idea of the numbers of ladyboys there are.

I want a yellow Lotus Esprit but have to settle for a Toyota PreRunner; wonder how many Thais are in the same boat (regarding their bike purchasing decisions, not car preferences).

I want an ST205 Celica GT4 with 380bhp but i can't import my old car, so have to make do with a Yamaha Mio125GTX and a 2012 Ninja650. I'll have to settle for a pickup truck of some kind next year...

My choice of bike would have been different if more was available through the dealerships here.

I actually asked my Honda dealer about a year ago what his biggest seller was and he said without doubt the Honda wave possible that the scooby has overtaken that now ,funny thing is though I think you see alot more fino around than scooby

I see quite a few Vespas out on the road. How many are they selling?

And the bigger model Mityon sell, I think it's called Scaralottapeepla....or maybe GTS300. How many of those way over priced over powered little wheelers have been sold in LOS?

I was surprised to by some of the numbers. I would have thought more CBR and Ninja type bikes

Fino has been around more than the Scoopy and Honda has been running Scoopy specials

I figured Wave was #1 but over the last few months Scoopy took over.

Honda is up to 79% market share with just barely double digit for Yamaha and sadly not much for Suzuki and Kawasaki All others well below 1%

I would say take a pick of the scooters & there you have it smile.png

The bigger nicer stuff is of course nicer but most popular?Scooters for sure &

would have to guess Waves,Dreams,Clicks etc

Any parking lot should confirm

How about the Honda Weph? A Thai friend is overhauling his back hoe and he told me the cost of that is three Honda Wephs. I asked him several times what he meant. I was so confused for about ten minutes until I realized he was talking about the Wave. No letter"V" in the Thai language you know.

Honda wave is number 1 for me bought 3 now in thailand over10 years no problems they are almost indistructable.

I see a lot of PCX's in Pattaya nowadays but okay it will never be a top seller as the Wave.

I also owned 3 Waves over the years, all bought 2'nd hand, hell the last one are now driven by

my wife's brother up in Isaan and are still going strong, but both of them had accidents on it and my

wife is convinced that its because we bought it 2nd hand and bad luck can follow.

I find the auto scooters excellent, love my new PCX and will never buy a Wave again, why ride a VW if you can have a Benz.
