Hello my dear,

Before I introduce myself, I wish to inform you that this letter is not a hoax mail and I urge you to treat it serious. I am a Director in Procurement Department with Petroleum Ministry here in U. A. E. I obtained your email while searching for a reliable person, who could assist me in receiving transfer of a supposed contract awarded funds. This fund came as a result of over estimated contract awarded sums executed by foreign contractors in the Petroleum Ministry. The concerned Ministry has approved these over invoiced funds for payment. The contracts which the over invoiced sums was created from has been executed and commissioned. What I am about to receive now, is the over estimated funds which was added during the process of obtaining the contracts for my own interest. Seems to be an even bigger scam in itself - a donation of $20 is required before you are allowed to read half of the forum.

Operating TSB is not free. The owner of this Forum must pay for bandwidth costs and 2 Dedicated servers (1 forum server, and 1 media server) which is not affordable these days.

The amount of traffic that site and forum attracts is not all that hot, a standard webhosting site @ $10/month would surely do - anyone can afford to spend that on a pet peeve.

This character with a .ca yahoo address (canada) sent the following to all baht&sold ads one by one- well, he thought he did;;;; he tripped a spam trap and all were deleted. BTW, IP says our friend hails from downtown Lagos Nigeria :o:D

Here's a NEW one everyone should be aware: MY site was targetted by a Thailand Co whom like to send SMS spam. Easy to figure, as they sent spam to ppl who ONLY EVER put their #s on my site AND I then also "salted" an ad or two with unused #s and waited. Sure enuff.

SO, about 3 weeks ago, I sent a complaint to the offending co (a Farang Co!). They more or less told me to stick it (plus threats of law suits if I accuse them publicly etc) and thus I buried all the phone #s online. Really pissed me off and annoyed/inconvenienced my advertisers but <deleted> can you do?

TODAY, just turned the phone #s 'live' again and we'll see....:o happens again, i'll bury the #s again and send a note to everyone explaining why.

I think email spam is actually on the wane- particularily if you have a website and you wish to protect your google ranking, you'll refrain. BUT SMS spam carries no penalty (lawmakers will have to catch up with it) and it's getting cheaper all the time, even intnly. This'll be a huge growth industry.... :D

Having said that, if you have a business with clients who sign up for it and agree to rcv SMS updates, then it's a great way at a touch of a PC button to send out a SMS telling everyone about your 30% off sale, golf tourney, pub night etc.

Edit/ and NO these SMS spammers had no assocation to Thai Visa's sponsored sms system :D
