Ii is also available under brand name Basalin, produced by a Chinese company (Gan & Lee) and distributed by Zuellig. Might be less expensive than the sanofi brand, but I have no idea about reliability of quality.

Suggest you contact both Zuellig and Sanofi for price quotes.

I have been buying Lantus at the Fascino Pharmacy in Pattaya for years at 1,020 Baht per disposable pen.

It is also available in vials, which work out slightly cheaper than the pens but are more hassle to administer.

I have also had Lantus supplied by both private and government hopitals in Bangkok, so it is widely available.

Interesting to learn about Basalin - might be worth checking out.

Anyone who has good control using the Sanofi brand (Lantus) should take care if considering changing brand.

Formulations made by different manufacturers are not guaranteed to be exactly the same and changing products may result in a loss of control.
