go buy a used one maximum 2 years, dirt bikes dont last that long

I'd say as the bloke is new to the scene, and the bike is only 1700 Baht then go for it.

98B De-rust lubricating spray (couldn't find WD-40)

85B Coolant

39B Funnel

30B bottle of benzine

I thoght the above was a comment about the speed of the dirt bike but it wasn't.

In any case I looked up the specs.. A good whistling.gif RGV 120 has about the same power as the old Yamaha DT175. So for tooling around in the bush it will do just fine. Sure it won't go up hills as fast as a 250 but it din't cost as much as a 250.

As the OP wanted to explore Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance he picked a real challenge.

Probably right, but the frame is defiantly a lot younger than the circa 1975 mentioned above! I have viewed the video a few times and I have no more ideas. Unless the OP comes back and adds a few more pics that is.

Maybe the other bike has an alloy frame....or an aluminised steel frame! If it is alloy,it's harder get a good repair done (even back in Oz) and alloy suffers from metal fatigue anyway.

Can anyone with better google skills find me the engine manual for the RGV120 aka Satria?

The kickstart won't turn at all.

I want to do two things:

A) try turning the crankshaft by hand.

B) open the kickstart and look at the gears.

These things have a disctint sound!

remove the spark plug....Then remove the crank access cover and you should be able to put a ratchet on it. Also if the plug is removed you could put the bike in a high gear and try and turn it with the wheel....

Did you empty that can of de rusting spray through the spark plug hole and leave overnight? Is the bike in neutral?

One good way to free up a frozen engine - drain oil, remove spark plug and fill with diesel fuel. Try and have cylinder head horizontal and level so you can fully fill. Do the same for the transmission.

Try each day to gently turn it over, both clockwise and anti-clockwise.

Leave for a few days - or weeks, whatever is needed.

I have never had one yet that would not turn over using this method,

And one was underwater for over a year.

I am sure your right, but using WD40 or Sonax would be better and quicker.

Maybe it is still full of diesellaugh.png or the OP is trying to get the diesel out of a 2 stroke crankcasewhistling.gif
