Mobile Broadband In Cm

Featured Replies

Who is providing the best value service ATM. Last time we were in CM I think we were with True or AIS, would appreciate some up to date info. BTW I use a Sierra USB dongle in the laptop. Thanks

For what it's worth, I use 3BB in the house, and have my modem providing wi--fi around the house. But that of course is hooked into a landline.

I've not heard of mobile broadband, but it could well be around.

There's no shortage of free wi-fi around town at various cafes etc. I was in Western Australia last week, and wi-fi in cafes and stores just does not exist, with the exception of McD's. It cost me $19.00 to buy 750Mb, to go into my $29.00 USB!! we've got it good here in CM biggrin.png

3BB has internet in many businesses and homes, along with a wireless router; but it's limited to immediate area usage. The same applies to several coffee shops and the like, although many charge for usage and they're not everywhere. Heavy concentration along Nimm, practically zero on the south and east sides of town. Look at their map online.

Today went to TOT and they have practically nothing for wireless mobile, although they do have wireless for the home most everywhere. DTAC is the same and I've been using them for several years, and now using the Samsung as a hotspot next to the computer at home, but it certainly strains the usage and gets costly, so I'm looking for something better.

I've been told that AIS has superior wireless for the mobile anywhere in CM and will check them out this week, unless someone here knows the details.

I just found the sim I was using it is a Truemove. I got it at there shop in Airport plaza shopping centre. It worked very well both in CM and BKK. We were staying near the night bazaar on Chang Klang Rd and the reception in the hotel was very good.

DTAC 3G is quite fast and has decent coverage in the city. I wouldn't use it as your main Internet source because you get a 1 GB plan for 399 baht and then it's 150 baht afterwards.
