Possibly there is an option in setup to switch from single to two digit channel selection.

There's no button setup. How do i find it?

cheers

There is a button marked display on your remote; I suspect that may be the one. Pushing this should put the channel number on screen, pushing a second time may change from single to double digit channel selection

Sorry, should have said 'menu' for your remote, there should be some setup options in there.

That's all in Thai.......bloody hell, not a lot of luck with this! rolleyes.gif

Guess my first suggestion, using the text store key, did not work.

Attacking the problem from a completely different angle... how about a new remote?

Briefly a while back a neighbour asked me if I could fix a remote which had seriously lost a battle with a dog (I couldn't), However I got a replacement remote from Amorn, cost 70 baht. It was for a Samsung 29" tv. ( note Samsung seem to mostly use same codes for their remote keys thro different models not like some manufacturers.) If interested I could go and check the remote model number (as posting in Pattaya and there is a local Amorn).

If you work your way through the settings options until you stumble on the language option you can select english. You will be able to read this at it will probably say "Eng" and be the only English word amongst the Thai and foreign script.

I have 2 Samsung TVs, one with a button -/-- that you use to select whether it is a single/double digit display, and another that just accepts ether a sigle or double entry automatocally. But you must be fast to enter the second digit of the double entry. If in doubt, put it in your pocket and stop at the TV store the next time that you are out and ask them! If the remote is bad a new one only costs 100 baht!

You're funny, man! I'd suggest for you to take a pic of the remote and upload it here. But the complexity of that might escalate the situation beyond control wink.png

No, taking photos i can manage. Great idea, it's attached.

I could of course just play around with the remote and push button 'til i find it but i'll push something, then the telly doesn't work and i wont be able to fix. Has happened on more than one occasion. I'm not pushing any buttons until i know what they do.

How freaking sad is that??!! whistling.gif

Is there any kind of control on the side near the word "Select"?

It's definitely not the speed of input. I've tried everything along those lines.

Your right about the cost and just replacing it but i'm in Hua Hin. My Thai language skills leave a lot to be desired and i think it might be pretty tough to get my point across in the shop. Anyway, i think i nave to and try.

Cheers

Thanks for this post - I didn't find a _ _ /_ button but I did find a quick way to get Closed Captions on and off. It's always pissed me off before that I have to press 13 times to do that. Now I only have to press 7 times.

Bloody luxury.
