Yingluck Has Considerable Say In Reshuffle

From what is reported in this article, it looks like the PM is staring to stand up to big brother and is begining to make her own decisions, it shows she is now confident in her own ability and is comfortable with surrounding herself with her own circle in favour of her brother's former inner circle. Good for her, can't be too good for big brother. Good to see Jutaporn left out as an MP, he can no longer use his position as an MP to avoid any charges that may be pending.

You really sure this is what the article says? lol

I drew my conclusion after reading the whole article, but my conclusion hinges on this brief paragraph,

'However, Yingluck refused to comply with the wish of her brother. This seemed to indicate that Yingluck has developed her leadership up to a level and decided to have her own say instead of complying with all wishes of the brother.'

Yes, it seems that she actually had a say in one of the changes which is better than none. There's a long way to go before merit actually replaces loyalty to the family. However, Yingluck is a better figurehead than any possible alternative.

Seems to me that all the polls indicate very decisively that the thai electorate are more than pleased with their choice of a democratic government, and their choice of Prime Miister. ,

Prime Minister Yingluckand her governing skills and attributes are also extremely well admired and commented on, on the International stage.

The lingering stink of the illegal junta proxy abisit has all but been exfoliated.

If the public like their elected-government so much, why is PM-Yingluck changing their line-up again for a second time, since they were voted-in ? Given that they're all chosen for their ability & experience, every time ? wink.png

And why should it be necessary to keep strengthening the family-presence in the Cabinet ? Are they that talented a family ?

The entire farcical situation that exists in Thai politics is summed up in this line from the OP

If the names mentioned in the Cabinet reshuffle speculations prior to the official announcement are any indications, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra seemed to have a considerable say in the make-up of her new Cabinet.

That the media should state with almost some surprise that the Prime Minister appears to have had some considerable say in the formation of HER cabinet is breath taking. And all this is excepted without so much as a whimper.

Could you imagine in the Uk for a moment in the press - "Prime Minister David Cameron seems to have had his way, despite his billionaire fugitive criminal brother expressing an alternative desire, he stuck to his guns and picked who he thought should be Foreign Secretary, rather than who his brother said should be.". The media and public would savage the man to death within days. here in the OP it is worded as if the PM has actually achieved something and should have a pat on the back. She happens to be the PM !

PM Yingluck may have a say in the reshuffle of her cabinet, but her choice of being represented by MoST Plodprasop on her weekly TV program seems a bit off the mark.

"Plodprasop, on PM's TV weekly programme, urges not to call it a drought but less water, assures water will be enough for use this year /MOCT"

Anyone who cares to ask dear Plod for his (re-)definition of "flood" ?

Some of you blokes comments seem to be at odds with this excerpt from the Nation today:

Democrat spokesman Chavanont Intarakomalsut yesterday praised and thanked the PM for not allowing herself to be influenced by Thaksin in her choice of people for the new Cabinet. "The prime minister has been on her own in choosing people to work for the country. To make it even better, she should also get rid of all the weak points. There are still many people in her Cabinet who are not suitable for the ministerial seats," he said.

With the cabinet handpicked by the PM using criteria like 'knowledge', 'capability' and 'potential' I'd call the praise more of a 'left-handed compliment' wink.png

Next week it is hoped that she can eat by herself with a spoon

I still think they put a helmet on her when she's out of view.

Good meaningful posts here today. Perhaps because its Sunday, and all are getting over Saturday!

Democrat spokesperson makes a statement complimenting Yingluck for not allowing herself to be influenced by Thaksin, and responses so far are:

She can soon eat with a spoon

They put a helmet on her when out of view

They help her get dressed in the mornings

No one seriously believes Yingluck makes the major decisions. No one.

But as long as the Thai people want her in charge - I say "Bless her heart". Just enjoy the show.
