English Language Phone Book

Featured Replies

My source for English language phone books has disappeared, with no indication of where it has moved to. Does anyone know where I can get an English phone book now ? Please give the hours and days of business if known.

I remember many years ago taking a Thai Yellow Pages to exchange for one in English at the Shinawatra Building on Phaholyothin Rd., Sapan Khwai. There's two Shin bldgs opposite each other.

It was the one on the left when heading towards Victory Monument.

That place would be your best bet to get any Phone directory in English.

Also, some years back, a friend of mine had an English phone directory on Cd-Rom. It was very handy as you could search for someone's address in Thailand if only given their phone number. (you can still do this to some degree on their Yellow Pages website.)

Only problem I recall with the cd-rom was the transliteration of a Thai name may differ from how you may spell it.

Perhaps you could enquire about this as to whether it's still available or not, unless someone here knows more.

Yes, until about 1997 I used to get my phonebook at the Shin Tower. Then the office moved to a small building near the Ratchawat market. Now, I see that it has moved again, but where to, I don't know.
