Is There A Doctor In The House? Equitable Life Payment Scheme

First off, is the anyone in Issan that has an Equitable Life policy? Is so are you trying to get money from the Equitable Life Payment Scheme? The U.K government has set-up a Payment Scheme to pay out people who lost 1/3 of there proposed Guaranteed payment in 2002. I lost a proportion of my guaranteed amount now they say they are going to pay out “some money” out to those who lost.

I started my claim March 2012, I'm still trying to prove who I am cos I live in Thailand they seem to doubt me. After 18 letters to them sending all sorts of documents Inc, certified passport, birth certificate and many others, they have written saying these are not acceptable, I think because the were certified by a Thai lawyer. They say I can get this done by a Teacher, Doctor Minister,Civil servant, lawyer, accountant and few more all must have a licence to practice. Is there anyone out there who can sign these for me? The U.K Consulate said to do this would cost 1,500 per doc, that and going to Bangkok would be about 12,000 baht! I don't if i'm going to get paid out anything yet, I don't want to throw good money after bad as it's already cost me over 5,000 in postage to date.

The embassy is probably your only choice.

I would think that only one certified copy of your passport and birth certificate would be all that is required. I can't see where the 12,000 baht cost you mentioned comes from.
