Yahooka
Last february and last week Ive been to BKK hospital in Pattaya and Phuket to do minor surgery and before the procedures they are taking blood test for HIV etc. In my home country they do the same and will inform you if the test is positive, but do they inform you here in Thailand if the test is positive ?? Swiss1960
not sure whether they will / have to tell you... but why not just ask for the results if you are unsure?
Mobi
There seems little point indoing the test unless they are going to act on a positive result - like maybe refsuing to do the operation, or at the very last taking extra precautions. It seems implausible that they wouldn't advise a patient of a positive result. Rajavithi hospital did an HIV test on me before my major heart surgery 6 months ago, and it is unthinkable that they wouldn't have advised me of a positive result. I think!!! Sheryl
Yes, they will tell you if positive. And probably to say anything if negative. But good idea to ask anyhow to confirm.

beano2274
From an experience I know of A specialist clinic that deals with blood tests did not inform the patients doctor that the patient was HIV positive, the doctor only found out about 1 month later when talking to the patient and his wife about their chances of treatment for her husbands condition, he then noticed the test result and informed the patient. lopburi3
As I recall pre-op paperwork for operation at Vejthani last year contained a paper for patient signing asking who I wished to be advised of an HIV positive text result. Believe the test is done immediately prior to operation as there is extra STAT charge
