There was a thing in another thread about what the family calls you and I don't want to go into the whole f-word thing here but if you have a Thai name , what is it and what does it mean ? How did you get your name ?

I'm not ashamed so I'll get the ball rolling . My Thai name is Puak , and it is a small sweet very white potato . A bit like me .

My SIL gave me that name when she first met me about 7 years ago and now it has just kind of stuck and everyone in the family calls me that or Uncle ( real name ) .

My real name can also be a Thai name too so that is a bit of a quirk of fate .

Anyway, don't be shy ! What's your name ? How many pigs and frogs do we have on TV ?

"Tawng" = gold smile.png

Comes from the saying "Tawng mai roo rawng" (gold doesn't know heat) and basically means I don't have any feelingssad.png )

It's just having a nickname just the same as all Thais have a nickname. What's the problem with that?
