Anybody Have Cheap 27" Korean Ips 2560X1440 Display?

I'm planning to buy one. Starting from $300 USD (including shipping) you can get a 27" LG IPS display from Korea on ebay.com

Price - performance ratio of these displays are amazing. You can search them on google: Yamasaki Catleap, FSM 270, Achieva, Crossover

Just wanted to ask around if anybody have experiences with these monitors. The only other option we have is Dell 2711U which is 22,900 thb on invadeit, but anti glare coating in this display makes so many people unhappy.

I using 1 now. Crossover 27Q-LED-P is the model name.

Awesome screen but the quality is hit or miss. Mine Backlid driver board burned after less than 3 months and seller send me a replacement board to exchange.

I also have a Dell U2713HM. Less AG coating than U2711. Maybe you can have a look.

How much you paid for u2713hm? And where you get it? Thanks

You can call Dell Thailand for pricing. Here is the monitor - U2713HM That's how I bought my Dell is direct from them and very good response and service and shipped to my door.

Looking at around 18,000 baht or you can get the S2740L for around 11,000. There's also a new 29" panoramic model for 16,000 baht.

The no-name Korean monitors don't use A grade panels hence the cheaper price but I've seen people say they were happy with them but definitely can be hit and miss.

I am also very tempted to buy the Korean monitor (see topic: which 27" monitor for desktop pc) but the warranty issue is a major concern.

The Dell is 18k bath according to kkerry's post no6 and the Achieva is app. 350 us$ (dead pixel free) excluding import tax, but still much cheaper.

I am going overseas for work for 2 month very soon so I will think about it and make up my mind when coming back.

If Dell 2713HM is 18k baht it seems like a good choice.

If you buy a perfect pixel (less chance to get dead pixels) korean monitor, prices goes up to 400 usd. Add 20% duty and 7% vat, price comes to near $500 usd.

@kkerry you bought it from dell for 18k baht or?

I don't have a 2713HM, just giving you an idea of the pricing.

If you ever need to know the pricing on Dell monitors then go to the Malaysian portal for Dell, add a zero to the prices listed to get an approximate Thai baht equivalent.

Currently using Dell 23" Ultrasharp monitors, excellent value for money. I prefer a monitor with tilt, swivel and pivot, something you may not find in the budget Korean models but probably not important to many people.

I tend to agree with you @muratremix if indeed the Dell can be had in Thailand for 18K bath seems to be best option for peace in mind regarding warranty issues. It's getting pretty good reviews in ALA test and it even got USB 3.0 high speed hub with 1 upsteam port and 4 downsteam ports.

I just checked Ebay and I could only find one Dell 2713hm for sale, in USA for 737$ and as @kkerry mention, Dell Malaysia for RM 1799 (18.000 bath) ~ 585 US$, strange it's much cheaper in Malaysia compared to the US.

I asked Dell pr e-mail what the price will be in Thailand and I might call them tomorrow as I am getting curious now.

This part was one of the most important ones for me besides the IPS panel and brand quality/warranty. The cheaper units are fixed except for tilt. With a very large monitor even more so. Mine also has VESA mount if one wants to wall mount it.

"Excellent comfort and usability: Full adjustability including swivel, tilt, height adjustability and pivot which lets you easily switch to portrait mode."

Regarding the pricing, I was very surprised when I ordered my monitors from Dell Thailand at how inexpensive they were. When I looked at what they were selling for in countries like Singapore, Australia and the US, Malaysia was the cheapest and Dell Thailand were importing them from Malaysia, delivered to my door for virtually the same price. In the past Dell monitors were almost impossible to find in retail shops here other than second hand but now even shops like JIB sell a limited range.

Currently in Singapore the 2713HM is SD799 (20k baht) at Fuwell, a well known Singapore retailer.

In Australia recently they have been as low as A$566 (18k baht) from Dell, on promotion.

I haven't read all of the comments but for sure there will be some people who hate the Dell anti-glare coating. I haven't found it to be a problem, YMMV.

I found Dell u2713hm for 17,700 on Pantip

18,000 on some other website, located at silom

18,xxx on another shop near ramintra (closest location to me). This shop will deliver it to me for 18K baht and I'm not crazy to drive & park into Pantip for only 300 baht (traffic is crazy)

It can be bought with 3 years warranty or 5 years for a little premium over 18k price.

That is very good news, I tried to call Dell on 1800-06-0016 but the no. is not asigned? I was looking for a dealer in Pattaya on Dell Thailand web page and it looks like Wantana on Central Road is a Aut. dealer and Numchai as well, hmm I bought my Samsung TV there recently.

@muratremix, if you buy a Dell 2713 please tell us about your experience.

I will most likely buy it on Friday (it arrives on friday), from dealer near Raminthra area.

I hope I like it and I plan to use it with 200% DPI. That may be overkill for a display like this but I have Astigmat in my eyes and can't read tiny text from a distance. Currently I use a 1360x768 26" Samsung Led TV for this particular reason.

I brought my Dell U2713HM from this seller: http://tontkub.com/catalog.php?idp=60

I opt for 5 years Warranty.

Between U2713HM and the Crossroad 27Q LED-P. I prefer the Crossroad in term of Image quality. Maybe because I still notice some blur on text on U2713HM due to the AG coating. But it is much less obvious compare to my Dell U2412 (Wife using now).

I got a ColorMunki Display Calibration tool. Anyone around HangDong area if want to have their LCD Monitor Calibrate, can PM me. I charge a fee though which is a nice cuppa of Latte. smile.png

About the tax on the Korea LCD, I suggest to use EMS as delivery mode. I got tax of 1450baht for it. Which is around 13-14%. Ask the seller declare lower value. :)

Someone more can confirm the import tax is about 15% and no more? I was reading the Thai Custom website and there are 40-60% rates on most items...

Btw, I agree it's better to get a Dell U2713HM compared to the Korean models for this price.

But I am actually looking for a Crossover 30 inch monitor which is half the price of the Dell 30" :(

I just got a Dell U2713HM and I am very happy with it. The screen is awsome when playing HD movies and games. It's not so good when watching low definition movies/pictures due to the high pixel. To overcome that problem I now use 2 monitors, my old 22" Samsung with 1680X1050 which is good for the low resolution stuff and using 2 monitors is very nice (never tried that before).

I will buy another 22" when my 5 year old Samsung "dies" it's just so nice having 2 monitors. The Dell is not so good for "normal" i-net browsing due to the high pixel but the 2 screens combined is hard to beat.

@ tacchan23, I can't help you regarding the import tax, are you sure it's not 30%? I once imported new motorcycle parts from USA for my (then) Harley and it was 30% paid when picking up the parts at the post office. Also a Kindle reader I bought from Amazon USA was someting like 30% but that was paid direct to Amazon as they ship with private couriers.

Did you tried your DELL as primary monitor with 200% DPI or 150% DPI modes? It should work good with a DPI aware browser (Not chrome!) then, atleast in theory.

I would like to buy this monitor but holding myself due to DPI concerns.

My Crossroad 27" got import tax of around 1500 baht (Cant remember the exact amount). It was ship via EMS. I would suggest you request seller to ship using EMS instead of Fedex.

I don't know about the 150 &200 DPI modes? I use the zoom to about 125% and that works fine. Yes I use the Dell as monitor 1 and I have started to use Explorer again as I find Chrome a pain in the butt to use.

How I managed with one monitor before is beyond me.
