Syriana: Movie Or Reality

Featured Replies

You have all heard of Syriana, the movie about the Middle East depicting US oil business influence in the region.

I thought the movie was quite effective to describe the situation over there.

The funny thing is that it is based on true facts. I wonder how the American public will react to the movie. The US is being portrayed as a corruptor and a corrupt society desperate for oil and that would stop at nothing to steal it (hum hum Iraq)

Would the American public realize that this is reality ? that what they don't see in their "digested" news is that they are the "bad" guys (not the people directly, but still as a nation) ?

Go see the movie, it's cynical and doesn't end well. Loved it.

I've seen a couple of reviews about the movie, and most of them were pretty critical of. While based on facts, in some cases the producer/writer/director either distorted what really happened, or even reversed the actual events (so that now, in this revisionist version, one guy gets offed by the CIA, while in actual reality, he was killed by the bad guys). T

hen again, there are those of you who think that the CIA are the bad guys, and the Arab terrorists that blow up school buses full of children are the heroes).

Actually the CIA is not being portrayed as the bad guys, the Pentagon is.

Yeah I'd love to see the American Edit of this movie side by side with say, the version that is coming out in the rest of the world.
