Unfortunately Mapservice Samsung Has Stopped

Featured Replies

Since a week or so (after running ICS 4.03 for month without that error message)

"MAPServiceSamsung has stopped"

No new program was installed

SII, ICS 4.0.3. not rooted (I will not root it)

What is the cause of this annoying message?

Thanks for any advise

It's a Samsung. What did you expect? With all the negative comments on here and everywhere else about Samsung products, I can't understand why people still buy them. Don't look to Samsung for help; you'll be disappointed.

Why did you even bother replying if you had nothing informative to say? I say all the Apple fanboys should be banned from replying to Android thread.

To the OP.

Google it.

From what I found out after looking for a few minutes, this service has something to do with MMS and somehow the Bluetooth service is tied to it.

You can try freezing the service and see if it's going to affect your phone usage, it should not brick or ruin your device in any way and if you find that you need this service, you can unfreeze it later.

Lots of topics on this on XDA developers web site. Use google and do a bit of reading.
