Chachoengsao

Featured Replies

Trying to go to some not so usual places this time. Can anyone comment on Chachoengsao? Tourist wise is there much to see, how about nightlife?

Thanks

Tourist wise you can do everything in less than a day.

Its a popular tourist destination for Thais making their way to Wat Sothorn, the only other place of casual interest is the river market thats been there for over 100 years.

Nightlife is Thai style.

I have been a few times, usually passing through to elsewhere, I wouldnt go out of my way to visit, typical Thai provincial town, not the best and certainly not the worst.

Personally I think the most boring town in the region is Sara Buri, at least it has a ringorad now so can be avoided.

As mentioned before if you are in the area, or passing through, then by all means take time to stop off, otherwise better options elsewhere.

The temple is famous for various Thai reasons and you can get there from Bangkok by rail for a bargain 17 baht - went their last weekend and made a quick video of the experience. Personally wouldnt bother unless you have plenty of time and like quiet unassuming exploring.

Not my favorite town, wife's Aunt owns a house there, have had a few visits. Spent most of the time at the pool with the kids or drinking beer at the back of the house. Few good Thai places to eat, never found a farang bar.

Would not go out of my way for a visit, but then I'm not a tourist. Jim
