So glad i do NOT live in AmeriKa;

Photographers are still being classified as potential terrorists in a newly released document from the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI.

and this freaks me out,

"two months ago, it began encouraging citizens to photograph other citizens who take suspicious photographs in order to report them to Homeland Security."

Recall those bumper stickers way back that said "America, love it or leave it"? I want one for my Thai car " America, I left"

I wonder how many other countries take this view.

I remember taking some photos in Saudi.

When my colleagues saw them the said "You should not have taken that one, it is a Royal Palace"

Do we have any restricted areas in LOS?

I tried to take pictures of a very nice house in Burma once and got introduced to Mr. Kalishnakov. Needless to say I didn't get my picture.

Never had a problem taking photos in the US.

I now recollect that the Royal Palace and the Emerald Buddha are

forbidden zones in LOS

To the Dept of Homeland Security, CIA and FBI....everyone is the enemy...

All, or at least most, military installations in Thailand usually do not allow it as in most countries. As mentioned, the most sacred Buddhist images are forbidden.

Oh, and Big C in Chiang Mai don't allow it as I usually hear 'The taking of photographs is forbidden (not allowed)' over the intercom speakers. biggrin.png

I am not sure the supermarkets have much chance of enforcing it

with just about everyone carrying a camera in their phone.................
