Driveways

Hi

Having contracted a builder to build house at a fixed price, he overran budget so scrimped on the drive and it looks crap! spoils the house.

So rather than dig up god knows how many ton of concrete and metal does anyone know if there are any companies in LOS specialising in putting down concrete and then imprinting a pattern say cobblestone into the drying cement. I can then put this over the top of offending drive.

Now this is fairly common in the UK and I think I have seen an add for it in one of the glossy Thai house mags but that could be wishful thinking.

Any info would be appreciated

Thanks

Just a thought - if the existing concrete is rough enough you can lay more on it, but if it is smooth you will need to rough it up first.

Then you could lay new concrete on top and roll some stones / pebbles into it. A few cubic metres of "hin dum" on the surface would look quite nice.

Hi

Looks like Winflor are the only providers, from their website they seem very professional, has anyone used their services? if so are you satisfied and is 500-600 baht per sq m realistic?

Thanks

Not Sure whether to Open new Thread as this is a few years OLD.

However I want to have a pressed (Stamped) concrete drive way and pathway .

I contacted a company here in Chiang Mai, The estimated price was OK at 55,000 baht so i chose the patterns etc

the sales man returned the next day with the official quote ,a nd good nes it was cheaper at 53,000 baht,

However when I went was discussing with him how deep the layer wuld be it transpired that the company would come along and layit all on the ggrass no clearing out to make a firm base!! Also they intended to lay the new drive straight on top of the old concrete.

and where the pathway begins there would be a step down as the path way would be 10 cms deep not 15cms deep.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I gues it is the typical Thai way! Just lay anyting new on top of the old!

no consideration for strength, just go for """"Veneer""""

the company name is STONE BUILD!!
