Roaming Charges On Txt Messages

Featured Replies

Hi,

I need a mobile for OTP -One Time Passwords.

I have used Malaysian HOTLINK SIMs and they seem to work just fine anywhere in Europe with apparently very little in way of a charge each time I receive a txt.

Has anyone any experience using a TRUE Inter SIM for the same purpose??

I need to receive Txt messages while in Thailand but also elsewhere in the world - Malaysia and Europe generally.

I understand that there is now 'Global Roaming' available for the TRUE SIM - but have seen comments that it can be very costly.

Did not happen with my HOTLINK - so maybe Txt only OK with a TRUE SIM??

Any information welcome.

Best Rgds.

I use an AIS SIM, and depending on country and promotion, an SMS costs THB 10 to 20. Worth it for me.

Sent from my LG-P698f using Thaivisa Connect App

Should have all the details: set-up, coverage, rates.

Malayasia 11 baht/SMS

France 11 baht/SMS

I might try to get some verification that SMSes actually get delivered. I've had good luck with DTAC/Happy and AIS/One-2-Call in the U.S. and Germany.

I use my HAPPY SIM for just that purpose. No charge to receive an SMS. Why should there be a charge? As for sending text msgs from the number; HAPPY/DTAC give you fifty free web SMS to other DTAC numbers(2 baht to other Thailand networks) complete with free delivery reports.
