After almost 12 mths wait for my fiancee to pick her visa up to travel we went through some unusual requirements as I recieve a pension and she has a 12 yr old son.

I have become a bit of a know all on the Assurance Of Support and how Centrelink assess income.

Believe me Centrelink are a bunch of duds and they don't train their staff properly to handle the AOS facts.

Example- 8 phone calls got me 8 different figures and eventually I had to read the Migration Booklet that Migration Agents use as their guide.

I had to read to them sections of the act and how it was assesed. In actual fact the figues were as they seen it an Assurer had to earn $37000-00 per yr.

The fact of it is the figure I got passed on was $18500-00 per year.

Can you imagine how many people get rejected?

The Immigration Department rely on these idiots to help assess Visa Applications, hard to imagine.

I'd be more than happy to supply information that could help any one in the same situation.

Cheers!

I am sure that many would be glad of assistance in this area....

Usually an AOS for a spouse visa is not required unless Immigration request it, I think we have just had a topic on this. I would presume that because you were on a pension that you were required to supply the AOS....is this right ??
