Dtac Email Or Web Or Phone Contacts?

My first problem is finding somewhere I can contact DTAC about my "Happy" account. I topped up a couple of weeks ago, but seems the validity of my number is due to expire in just two weeks, and that shouldn't be, I think,

But search as I might on their website, I absolutely cannot find any form to contact them, or an email contact, or even a list of numbers to try calling.

I'd prefer not phoning, as I'm sure we'd get tangled up in language problems, but perhaps there's an English HelpLine, as TOT has for internet difficulties?

Anyone with any way of contacting DTAC, please post here. I'm sure others will appreciate it as I will.

1678 is the call center.

You can also dial one of the following codes to extend credit time for 30, 90, or 180 days respectively. I think it is 2 baht for 30 days, 6 baht for 90 days and 12 baht for 180 days. You may have to be a customer for some fixed period before you can do this.

*113*30#

*113*90#

*113*180#

This so-called "Simple SIM" plan gives 90 days with any top-up:

This SIM never expires, but does require usage at least once every 43 days.

Here are some top-up charts: (note that if you top up with 800 baht you get 100 baht calling credit, so essentially a 12.5% discount.)

That's what I thought. But I stopped at a DTAC booth in a mall and topped up with 100 baht about two weeks ago, and yet checking now it says I'm going to expire validity in just two weeks.

I'll try the *113 numbers.

Thanks for your help.

[Edit]: Just extended the validity for 90 days by calling that *113* number. Strange that it didn't extend validity when I topped up, but ..... TIT, I guess. Not going to worry about the few baht for extending the life of the SIM. Do the same in April when I head o'seas for six months and want to ensure it works when I return.

Do you have the "Simple SIM" plan? If not, a 100 baht top-up would add ten (10) days to your existing validity. If you enter *101*9# (should be on your SIM) into the dial keypad and hit call/send what does the reply say re: balance/validity?

With an Android phone you may see an app. called Happy Service, I think this baked in to the SIM, which front-ends the various USSD codes.

Mine is the basic Simple Plan. I don't make many calls, so wanted to go the most basic. Same with the phone - it's the low end Samsung - no camera, no videos, no music, but it does have a simple little flashlight! And it does what I want it to do - make and receive phone calls (even does a few SMS, so I'm okay with my bank's OTP).

Using the *101*9# could have shown an additional ten days, although I'm not sure. I have enough trouble figuring out that it's now December whistling.gif

I think those codes probably were baked into the SIM when I set up the phone, but there were too many of them, so I deleted a lot, probably without understanding just what they all were for. sick.gif

Now, I'm also curious about the number to turn on and off international roaming. Last year, I turned my phone on in Hong Kong and it beeped and told me that if I used it, it would cost me a gazillion baht, but I could turn off that roaming feature by dialing ??? I kinda panicked and I did. But maybe I should turn it back on, as I basically turn the phone off when I leave, but maybe want to get an OTP if I want to do some banking. Now I have no idea what the number is for doing that. wub.png

Thanks for your help.

You can enable international roaming with *118*9# SEND or *1018 SEND. Not sure how to turn it off. With Happy eservices you can manage your account on-line. There is also an Android app. in the Play Store.

You can check your promotion *103*9# SEND and switch plans via IVR: press *1003 SEND.

Assuming you have the Simple SIM/Plan then any top-up should extend your validity to 90 days from the date of the top-up. Maybe best to ring DTAC or stop in a shop to sort this out?

Now that''s the kind of information that should be on their website. And without any web contact, there's no way of suggesting it to them. I've turned mine on, using the info you gave. Thank you.

I tried to look through the Happy eservices to manage it online, but couldn't find anything there for turning bits 'n' pieces on and off.

I do have that simple SIM/Plan, but I think when I topped up earlier, it might have given me only the ten days you indicated in your earlier post. I've now got loads by using the few baht top up numbers you've given me.

I did try to get it sorted at a DTAC booth in a shopping mall, but although language didn't seem to be any problem, we didn't accomplish anything.

Now, slightly different: I don't know if all these numbers apply to all the networks or not, but I do think this is the kind of information that perhaps we should have pinned on the forum? Very useful, particularly as the DTAC network (perhaps others, too) don't publish it on their own website.
