Featured Replies

Thai fish in the news.

Shrimp i eat at the farm come from local sweet water fish farms.

Always wondered what they themselves ate..

We went on a live on Dive Boat near the Similan Islands. There was a trawler thre fishing with what looked like a gigantic nylon sock. Nothing could escape, They had a Bull Shark in the net they were hauling in.

When they are young the Farm prawns might/do get some specialist food.

But, as they mature they are self feed ... hovering basically what ever falls to the bottom of the pond.

They are bottom feeders ... yes, it was a pun ... rolleyes.gif

In the video is shown how the baby shrimp are fished from the ocean and are used for shrimp food. What is sad is the baby shrimp caught are considered waste by the fishermen and they will be sold as food for the shrimp. Hell of a way to go!
