How Much Aspirin Should You Take ?

It's not good for everyone since it can increase the risk of strokes because of the blood thinning effect. It should only be taken on the advice of a qualified medical practitioner.

But to answer your question, the standard dose is 81 mg (which corresponds to one quarter of a USA-standard tablet).

No worries for the stomach if you buy the ENTERIC coated ones, widely available in Thailand. About 80 mg or somewhat more (I've seen low 100s) is considered aspirin therapy for daily use. There are risks so it's not for everyone. Tell doctors about if planning surgery (you should stop). Fish oil and aspirin are DIFFERENT therapies, typically people do BOTH. Don't take a standard 500 mg daily unless a doctor orders that. Obviously "ask your doctor" is always the standard line, but personally I feel most doctors would be OK with most people doing the low dose aspirin who have some risk factors: older age, obesity, family history, hypertension, high cholesterol, etc.

Aspirin in the US uses a different size system but it is the same thing. The 81mg is based on the US 325mg standard size as it is 1/4 that.
