Good Budget Condo?

I'm looking for a good budget condo with lcd tv, laundry option and good location and who knows a pool.

Any suggestions?

Price range: 10k all in max with internet and all other costs like water and electricity.

What do you want, a place to live in full time or a crash pad for when you are on holiday?

I know exactly where that place is, your nearest transport would be Khlong San Saeb at Wat Sribunreung.

Its all Thai style out that way, nothing wrong with it, however if you are after farang comforts its not for you.

I have never been in Thailand. So i thought i'd go to Bangkok first and from there find out where i want to settle. In the weekends i would travel trough bangkok and once a month go to different location like Chiang Mai, Phuket and so on.

And then after 6 months or so decide where i want to settle, so I'm looking for a temporary 6 month condo.

So perhaps something close to a BTS station might be a good idea for a newbie. And I would like to eat out too 3 times a day. Will not be having transportation so everything must be easy accesable. City area style sort off I guess.

Any suggestion for a district?

I actually don't like to live in the city and I dislike big cities even more, the chaos and traffic. I like to live near a city nearby tho but like calm more. Maybe Pattaya yeah. Never lived near beach so who knows.

But since I won't be having my own transportation yet, I think its the best option for now.

Maybe just moving to different location every 6 months might be an idea too.

I am not trying to be funny, but you say you have never been to Thailand, so what is there here that attracts you?

Your biggest problem will be, I assume you neither speak or read Thai.

You want somewhere farang friendly where you can get around, and not a big city, forget Bkk, head for Chiamg Mai.

I can comfortably say on the price part I won't be in shock. It's way more cheaper to live there then Europe. Guaranteed.

That seri47 condo for example, here u would pay tripple to 5 times the price for same.

Yes it is cheaper here but if you want anything approaching Western-style levels of comfort, you will be shocked. 10K won't get you and LCD TV, super-fast internet, electricity and water all thrown in - not anywhere decent, anyway.

I think some posters have offered some pretty decent options but you seem to be providing your criteria on a drip-feed basis so without wishing to appear rude, maybe you should get in touch with a letting agent - it's their job to do trial and error with vague requirements. Get lucky and they'll have a few lined up for you to view upon your arrival

Alternatively, do it the old-fashioned way; book into a hotel for a week and do the rounds looking for an apartment with the benefit of being able to get a feel for a place as you go.

Have you considered the visa position?

Unless you are over 50 and have money to put in a Thai bank for a retirement visa

you are going to find it very difficult after the first 6 months or so.

Apartments in that price range generally don't have amenities but you can find some that are around 5-8k baht especially around Ratchada.. There are a few nice condos in the Ratchada area and outer Sukhumvit area but most with decent amenities start at 10k but do not include electricity, water or internet. Of course, areas less convenient to the BTS and MRT are most reasonably priced. Best of luck!
