Hiya all

working in UK about to apply for settlement visa. What are the earnings/savings needed to support wife and child. Asked this before but would like to clarify as unsure? Dizzy lad that I am!

There is no minimum requirement for income and/or savings as everybody's circumstances are different. The basic requirement is that you should be able to support and accommodate yourselves without recourse to public funds.

The following is a guide only, it is not official.

If your net income, after paying your rent or mortgage and servicing any debts and other commitments, is more than the basic income support figure then you should be OK.

I dont have any outgoings, pay no rent or bills as I stay at my family home, good old mum and dad!

The only thing I have is money to my family in thailand and a few beers with the boys! :D Well you have to have a little fun eh.... :D

Remember to get them to write a letter confirming this and inviting her to live with them. Also provide details of the property and proof of ownership or a landlords letter of consent as appropriate.
