    First, let me say that I am new to the CR area so I am not yet familiar with the names of the roads, rivers and landmarks. One day however, I was traveling on the road from the airport to that ends u

Hope it wasn't your friends that caused the sky to look angry......but then again, there is that beautiful blue above.

Here is a shot from the same day but looking West over Phaya Mengrai and back toward Chiang Rai, instead of East toward Phu Chi Fa.

A heartfelt "Thank You" to all that have contributed their photo's of Chiang Rai to this thread.

I have spent the last couple of days reading several of the C.R. threads and was totally unaware that one had a limited supply of "likes".

Some of the photo's (and comments) of the area make it abundantly clear why we have chosen to be here.

Shortly, I will sort through my own pic's and post those that I feel worthy.

Until then.........I'll wait for some of those "likes" to grow back. wai.gif

Cheers from "Aft"

Oh, as a side note, after 2 years(ish) of lurking since signing up for Thai Visa........ This is my Virgin Post!!!!!

Me thinks I'll pour a drink and celebrate the milestone.

Well, that first pic post was a learning curve. Let's try again whilst it is still fresh. blink.png

Here is a couple pic's of a wee temple at night. This was from my second trip to C.R. just over two years ago.

We could see it from the cottage we rented. And why not a shot of the view from the front deck as well.

Every morning I would wake up to the chanting of the monks in the temple in the valley. I figured the P.A. system must have been from The Who or Led Zep.

This was all still pretty new for me and I couldn't believe how loud it was. Blew me away........ I Loved it!

With all the new members out there I am sure some new homes have been built and we would like to see them. If you are not sure how to post a picture, here is a link to Tywais Posting Images-Guidelines. Easy to follow instructions to help you post an image.

For those people that follow the Chiang Rai United team, then this is their stadium.

Well, Ours is a work in progress. I'll put a couple before shots and then some after shots. Maybe I'll skip the 2,342 "during" shots so I don't bog down the thread......even though I find each and every one quite fascinating. biggrin.png

I should have edited better, and taken out all house references. Was just trying to help with the learning curve for posting pictures. Tywais has explained things well.smile.png

Too funny and understood. I will continue to play with the whole picture posting thing.

Cheers

And I found this hospital at the Chiang Rai Uni.

It is the General Animal Hospital. I told my wife it would be quite adequate for me if I should need one

as, like the animals, I don't speak Thai.

Many reservoirs are very low these days but that means you can walk around floor of the lake and see things which are usually under water. I love these huge tree trunks which are hidden from view most of the year.

Dry+lake++001.jpg

I may as well add one more while I am here. Looking back at the dam, next to the stream which feeds into this catchment area.

Dry+lake++010.jpg

Love the images and the vibrant green V.F.

The tree trunk especially is very cool.

Nice shots.

Thank you for posting

Cheers

Having never been to Chiang Rai, FV offered to take my wife, step daughter and myself

on a tour of the Chiang Rai hills. After seeing the area, I would highly recommend

driving the area and taking in the magnificent views. Nature has so much to offer.

The White Temple.......from the rear. It's a shame that so many people walk out the side of the building and head towards the front. You're missing this.....

Hopefully you start at the front and work through to the back where you are burnt and start again.
