Popular Post Aftrmidnyt
A heartfelt "Thank You" to all that have contributed their photo's of Chiang Rai to this thread. I have spent the last couple of days reading several of the C.R. threads and was totally unaware that one had a limited supply of "likes". Some of the photo's (and comments) of the area make it abundantly clear why we have chosen to be here. Shortly, I will sort through my own pic's and post those that I feel worthy. Until then.........I'll wait for some of those "likes" to grow back. Cheers from "Aft" Oh, as a side note, after 2 years(ish) of lurking since signing up for Thai Visa........ This is my Virgin Post!!!!! Me thinks I'll pour a drink and celebrate the milestone. Cheers

Popular Post Aftrmidnyt
Well, that first pic post was a learning curve. Let's try again whilst it is still fresh. Here is a couple pic's of a wee temple at night. This was from my second trip to C.R. just over two years ago. We could see it from the cottage we rented. And why not a shot of the view from the front deck as well. Every morning I would wake up to the chanting of the monks in the temple in the valley. I figured the P.A. system must have been from The Who or Led Zep. This was all still pretty new for me and I couldn't believe how loud it was. Blew me away........ I Loved it! With all the new members out there I am sure some new homes have been built and we would like to see them. I'll put a couple before shots and then some after shots. Maybe I'll skip the 2,342 "during" shots so I don't bog down the thread......even though I find each and every one quite fascinating. kevjohn
And I found this hospital at the Chiang Rai Uni. It is the General Animal Hospital. I told my wife it would be quite adequate for me if I should need one as, like the animals, I don't speak Thai.
Popular Post villagefarang
Many reservoirs are very low these days but that means you can walk around floor of the lake and see things which are usually under water. I love these huge tree trunks which are hidden from view most of the year.

Popular Post kevjohn
Having never been to Chiang Rai, FV offered to take my wife, step daughter and myself on a tour of the Chiang Rai hills. After seeing the area, I would highly recommend driving the area and taking in the magnificent views. Nature has so much to offer.
Popular Post theblether
The White Temple.......from the rear.
