I heard about that before but didn't post it as I didn't want to be accused of posting rumors.

This is not good news.

Less competition means higher prices and fewer promotions.

It was on 103FM local news last week.

Anyone that enjoys pizza delivered should own a larger "toaster" oven. Turn it on the highest setting so oven is good and hot when the pizza gets there. Pop it in for five minutes and your good to go.

Roll of baking paper makes for no clean-up as well.

There was a Southern Thailand food place that set up every night - and went late - on Pattaya Tai across from Wat Chai. They had 3 or four dishes in large caldrons. My favourite was “gaeng tai pa”, a fiery soup with fish balls, unlimited green beans, cucumber and other veggies”. For me, it was the place to go at 11 pm. I really miss it.

The laab/larb and BBQ favors at BonChon I think are good. The seem to add an drop flavors monthly.

The spicy corndogs I think are pretty good.

The I was very disappointed with the fish.

Bonchon also reheats very well in a toaster-oven, or the leftovers go very nice chopped up on a salad or in a wrap.

I should have clarified this better.

Yes indeed Bonchon is always featuring new, unusual, and sometimes wild special menu items with a variety of flavors.

But I think for their CORE BRAND menu items which are especially Korean Fried Chicken, the flavor options are set.

Was soy garlic or hot.

Now you can also choose mala.

I also didn't think much of their fish.

My favorite core menu item is the Korean fried chicken legs.

Their spicy soft tofu soup is good and pairs well with fried stuff.

My wife tells me gaeng Tai pa is Muslim. The Tai part says it is from the south. If you ever find yourself in Krabi town, go to the large market, at the back is a lot of food - Muslim stuff - no beer, but that’s okay. The best local food except when you bump into large shrimp right off a fishing boat.

Interesting.

That is correct about the curry but I think you were referring to curry over Khanom Chin (fermented rice noodles) places which are mostly associated with Central Thailand.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khanom_chin

When I think about Southern Thai food I think of dishes like

Khao Yam Nam Budu

Spicy rice

Gaeng Som

Gaeng Kua Kling

Gaeng Sataw

Stinky beans

As far as street places serving Muslim Khao Mok Gai chicken yellow rice yeah that would be southern but I haven't really thought of them as Southern Thai restaurants per se but more of as Muslim food.

Cheers

Now I remember, gaeng Tai pa is made from fish guts I think. Addictive, but I noticed most customers went for other foods. Some some stalls on Pattaya Tai, near where the closed market is, have sataw, if you fancy making some.

Bell's Love Cafe on Soi Bonkot is a coffee shop with a difference as it serves and specialises in European 'cold cuts', including ham, cheeses and sausages from Germany and Switzerland. The excellent coffee is sourced from Thailand and is natural and fresh. Definitely worth a visit for the wide range of speciality German sausages and fresh breads. It's also nicely decorated with Thai handicrafts.

I put the link to this place...

they are not specialized in any cold cuts

they just serve breakfast with some ham
