Python Software Update?

Featured Replies

Can anyone help with this "problem".

I ran the Secunia PSI programme to check for updates on my laptop and it said that many updates needed (although I thought that I had set my computer to manually update progs). So I rectified that, but one in particular puzzles me, and it is a "Python 2.7x" software update??

I have no idea what it is and more to the point when I try to update it, it directs me to the "Python" website which is full of confusing information and I can't find a way to download it anyway.

So any ideas/help please AND perhaps more to the point, do I need this programme (Python and Secunia PSI) or can I just set the computer to update all progs automatically?

Many thanks and go easy as I'm not an IT whizz.

Some programs are written in the Python programming language, and your computer has at least one of them. Those programs require the Python interpreter. However, you probably don't need the update. Don't worry about it.

If you don't use Python, just delete it - problem solved!

Thank you for taking the time to reply and I have deleted the Secunia PSI programme and am not worrying about "Python". As it happens I think the Secunia PSI prog was causing a few problems on the laptop as strange things started to happen after the download!!

Thanks again.
