Cocoa.... I have seen a couple of places growing this on Samui, but the trees look like they have been abandoned .....

Just wondering if it's a viable crop anywhere in Thailand?

It's not that tasty to eat at this stage.... in fact it acts like Ex-lax.... don't be too far from a toilet ! whistling.gifbiggrin.png

This is our 23 rai which has now been leased out and the lessee has prepared the land ready for either seeding or planting by machine,my guess is will be seeding by hand but I'll keep an eye on it to find out which way.

From the West. From the East

Who would say no to a few of these ?

Just a dollop of Cornish clotted cream and it would be heaven...

These were from my Mums garden today :)

Hi folks

I feel that it is necessary for me to apologize for double posting some of the photos on this thread.

Last night I was looking through the photos and comment and realized that some were doubled posted.

Out of the probable hundreds if not thousand of photos I had of the farm I put the ones that I thought

were good enough for sharing in one folder, what I should of done is copy that folder and then delete

the photos that I had posted .......my apologies wai.gif

I am also coming towards an end of the photos that I can or will post from the old farm,I was hoping to

string them out until i go back home later this month but not sure if that is wise because once you have

seen one photo of a pig, duck, chicken or rice paddy then you have seen them all and I have the feeling

that I am starting to bore you all by posting the same things.....to me they are all very special because they hold

fond memories. I suppose because they were mine and I loved them.

but that is just me and I need to think about you guys as well thumbsup.gif

regards

Shaggy

No sweat, Shaggy! I trust you will return with a goldmine of pictures this timethumbsup.gif

The photo below is of a Muscovy duck standing guard over it's dead brother.

The duck stayed by it's siblings side for two days and in that time it wouldn't

allow us to go near him so we could remove the dead duck.I could understand

if it was a female partner or a or if it was a mother with her dead young.

But a duck staying by it's dead brother is pretty amazing I thought.

Nature can be truly touching sometimes.

Incredible story, Shaggy. The farm dog at my GF's farm did the same at it's sisters' grave and wouldn't eat for days.. Animals are very sensitive and, well... humane..!

i kept a dozen Mallards and a pair of Muskovies in Florida and have

a dozen unbelievable stories to tell. one of them is that the male Muskovie

used to chase (not once but several times) a sunbathing Alligator (size

approximately 120 cm / 4 feet) back into the lake.

here's Mrs Naam handfeeding a pair of cranes after Mr Muskovy had

his fair share of white bread and getting ready for his afternoon nap.

another Muskovy story is a parallel to what Shaggy reported. when

Mr Muskovy disappeared (perhaps a big gator) Mrs Muskovy refused

food for several days and spend her time sitting very close to a door

which had a mirror like brass kickplate atached at the bottom. she

must have taken her reflection as being her husband.

we used to handfeed her and put a bowl of water next to her till she

was willing to wander around again and feed normally.

a touching animal story!
