It's a good one, isn't it? I found it somewhere a long time ago - can't remember where. I used to download all smilies from sites that had a good selection, and now use them in my posts elsewhere.

hey sunshine thanks for the like..this little dog had been hit by a car and had a broken leg. I offered to take him "nui" ? (small) to the vet ,( and pay for treatment), as he was clearly in pain and the accident happened about 3 weeks ago. They said no as he was able to get around ok but could not walk on his back leg and did not like being patted, I would reckon cause he was still in pain. Sometimes I feel very frustrated how the locals treat their creatures..but I could not push the point I guess..He gets around ok but it is hearbreaking to see that I can't do anything to help him..apart from a couple of a few bits of crushed up painkillers in his food now and then.

Bundycat...it is frustrating how locals treat their animals which are non productive for them. Meaning a dog vs a cow or pig ya know.

The latest addition to our tribe was picked up some months ago, a short while (perhaps a couple weeks) after he was clipped

by some vehicle. Little guy is a full blown black Lab, now nearly full grown! I was having some lunch in a restaurant & saw the

pooch crossing a soi heading my way & without "calling" him over he gimped up and laid down at me feet. I gave him a pet,

ordered a bottle of water, some chook fried rice, both for him & another beer for me. After our lunch bill was paid I decided

to take him home & carried him to my truck. He vomited once, we stopped for some snacks, he fell asleep on the seat

and 50 kilometers away from Ranong (home) I called the missus saying I'll be back shortly, trip was good etc and purposly

failed to mention "Junior". Making a long story short, he was instantly accepted by the other dogs & the wife & within a few

days he was at the vet getting a checkup & leg Xray. He still has a very slight limp, it doesn't bother him nor us and he's as

active as the rest of our tribe is...since it's hot during mid day & cool at night he sleeps days & plays nites. Missus named

him Hok (6) so he answers to either Junior (my name for him) or Hok. We were happy with 5 dogs...now we're happy with

six! Number 7 could come along at any time...depending on what we see on any soi that needs attention/care.

Don't give the little guy you're helping too much pain killers as they'll eventually mess up his renal system (liver, kidneys)

and that's not good. The pain he has now should eventually go away with time... I know this...broke me thumb some

years ago doin stupid stuff, never went to the doc, hurt like crazy a few months then OK. Never know it was broken

today had I not done it to meself.
