I rescued the little black critter from a raging monsoon drain 2 weeks

before this pic was taken. The second pic was taken 6 months after

the first one...The blonde critter we've had for a year at that time &

also a rescue...

Gladys, the black dog, was yelpng her heart out in a raging monsoon drain on Phuket.

I jumped in between her and the conduit that ran off to sea...she was holding onto a

thick stick wedged in the drain with her front paws. I grabbed her then had a very

hard time egressing the drain due to the amount and speed of the water but we

made it. Both of us covered in shit, soggy paper bits & anybody's guess what else.

A coffee shop owner in old town watched the whole thing...handed me a bar of

soap and a towel then pointed to the "toilet". As we dried off in the shop she pee'd

on me...everybody laughed we were bonded at that moment I guess. Perhaps when

I rescued her from the drain itself...who knows. But nowadays she's a very good

dog.

Safi as a kitten post-130732-0-69262000-1379915921_thumb. and then 8 years on with a very close encounter !!!! post-130732-0-81064800-1379916222_thumb.

When I lived on Phuket the first time way back in 1985 a

scrawny little mutt befriended me one afternoon at a

friends pub. He was hungry & I fed him. He was thirsty

& I quenched his thirst. Then he followed me all day

long as I did whatever I did that day. He looked part

Jack Russell & part Doxi and had an attitude akin

to a Mastiff..not afraid of anything or anybody. One day

I grabbed a shot of him at home on "his" chair...a chair

that I couldn't even share with him!

His name was "Boy"...His name could also have been

a plethora of swear words I used on him as time went

by ...but he always answered to Boy & so it was. Ornery

little bugger!

I am not much into cats but I couldn't resist this scene as it seems quite amusing. Feel free to make up your own story regarding what was going on here.
