Gsm Repeater

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am plagued in several places by poor GSM signals.

Are GSM repeaters available in Pattaya?

How much do the cost?

Thank you

Found these, there may be more, topic comes up relatively often.

Thank you, I'm very surprised of the prices shown on hispeedaircard.com 5500 baht for an AIS repeater? do these thnigs work?

Yes, they do. I bought one of those from hispeedaircard.com for my house. Originally, I was looking for a dual band (850 and 900 MHz) to cover all networks but couldn't find any. Some footwork is required with your GPS and GoggleEarth to align the antenna to the tower. Did some tests, while talking on the phone powered off the repeater. Immediately, the conversation became almost impossible.

Just don't get fooled by the 4 bar signal strength. This is now showing the signal from the repeater, which is close, and not the AIS tower.

In Europe the prices for GSM repeaters start at around 200 euro. About the same in dollars in US.

The repeaters sold by hispeedaircard.com are Chinese made, and manual is almost totally useless. In my case the labeling on the unit was not the same as in the manual.

I see!

Here in Switzerland, the first prices are 450 EUR, and the big shops want to sell them for 2000 EUR!!! LOL

Thank you for your help
