Looking For Quiet Residential Area In Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm looking for a quiet residential area in Bangkok.

My last visit, I stayed near Victory Monument BTS.

When I needed to take the train up north one day, I taxied over to a local train station and liked the look of the neighborhood...quickly going from hi-rises to a quieter residential area.

Can anyone recommend an area like that where I could search for a short-term apartment?

I don't know exactly what you are talking about, but there is a quiet area "behind" the Thai CC- tower at BTS Surasak.

Apartment is called Baan Rim Sathorn.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out.

I'm looking for a location away from tourist areas but within walking distance of the BTS to make it easy to get around .

I'm in Chiang Mai and plan to visit in the near future.

Ratchada, u have MRT Huay Khwang or Thailand Cultural Center.

This hotel looks very nice. Thanks for the idea.

"DocN's" suggestion is closer to what I'm looking for, though, a small garden apartment that's in the city, in a quiet area and convenient to the BTS. Plus, reasonable monthly rates.

I'm not saying any hotel, these are two MRT stations. U can find a lot of condos as an any part of BKK. Prices maybe from 9.000 Baht. If u are looking about BTS I haven't lived to any area, cause I live in Ratchada, which it's not a farang's crowded area.

Around Huai Kwang Surthisan areas away from the main roads you can find places that are quiet. I like the area between huai kwang and sutthisan station on the left side of ratchada. You can find decent places there for 6-10,000 depending on if you want a pool, gym.

Only noise is once or twice a month when somebody has an all night birthday party, wedding, etc.

For park living easiest is probably closer to Jatujak/Chatuchak then like in lad phrao but much more Thai then and further away.

What's your budget? If money is no objection then Summerset Thong Lor or Ariva Ivy Thong Lor.
