Google Earth Isan

Featured Replies

I've been noticing that Google has been updating its satellite imagery lately. Most recently parts of Korat, Sisaket and Udon were added. You can see the most recent updates here. Udon Thani city's imagery is now only from December 2, 2012. Ubon Ratchathani was also updated not long ago (with a nice cloud on top of the North end of the city). Some of the imagery previous to that was as old as 2001.

Sorry, but Google Earth is still displaying my area of Ubon from March 21, 2002 imagery. IMHO, I don't ever think they will update us. Also, I don't think we will ever get high speed internet here either.

Click on the button on the bottom left that displays a year. It will give you a slider at the top to change year.

Not sure why the most recent data isn't default.

Still 2006 at my village but this thread did prompt me to go and check my other home in Australia and it has jumped 10 years!

Thank you for this information. I changed the slider which was displaying 2002 and now I see my part of Ubon on March 16, 2012. You should see the big roofs. So many condos and "mansions" have gone up. Trees are getting fewer and fewer.

Thanks, I'll try this. Does this actually update the photo, because there are many more homes in my area now and they don't display on the 2002 photo.

The real stuff is here, but only small watermarked previews are available or you pay big money:

Google of our village is almost 10 years old.

Your area is now updated Issaan Aussie. I'm pretty sure that's your pig barn now showing up quite clearly! I think I can see those girls making there way into the Karaoke also!
