Nokia 1280 Mobile Phone

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does anyone have this phone, purchased in Thailand? I'd like to know:

-- Can the backlight be completely turned off? In my old Nokia, in Display Settings, there are three choices for Backlight Time: Normal, Extended and Off. Is it the same in the 1280? Off-backlight is better for my migraines.

-- Is the phone unlocked so that it can be used abroad, in my case mostly the US, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia?

Thanks, David

Maybe review the user's guide which should be available on line?

All phones sold here are unlocked.

I am not certain that model would work in the U.S. as it does not appear to support the available (pre-paid) frequencies which T-Mo and AT&T operate on (or their MVNOs). It should work in most other GSM countries.

Thank you. I did read owner's manual online but it doesn't say. Also couldn't find answer in general Net search. And stores here don't have actual thing to let you handle. So I'm looking for someone who has one.
