The Khunpluem family is considering whether to seek a royal pardon for its patriarch Somchai, Culture Minister Sonthaya Kunplome, Somchai's son, said yesterday.

And so it begins.

I for one hope the great man gets a pardon. his son are so good for Thailand

Not on either side, but keeping it real Ittiphon has more contests, events, pouring into Pattaya than any other mayor.

Kamnan Poh received treatment in Samitivej like general patient: security camera shows

Somchai Khunplome, or Kamnan Poh, was receiving treatment at the Samitivej Hospital like other patients before he was arrested, feeds of the hospital's security cameras showed.

Pol Maj Gen Suphisal Phakdeenaruenart, the commander of the Crime Suppression Division, said the feeds showed that Somchai arrived in an Lexus RX270 sport utility vehicle and the vehicle also stopped at the entrance to receive the parking card like other vehicles.

Suphisal said Somchai wore a flu mask when he went to see his doctor so he could pass himself among other patients.

Suphisal said the hospital had not yet set the patient registration of Somchai for the CSD to investigate. Somchai received the treatment at the hospital under the name of Kim Saetang.

Somchai was arrested on January 30.

Suphisal said police would summon three men who were in the black RX270 SUV when Somchai was arrested to be questioned on February 12.

Supisal said police would announce a probe into the cover-up of Somchai's treatment at the hospital on February 16.

Every day I wake up and read the Thai news, and every day I do a face palm while reading it. Today was a double face palm. Just when you think they have reached the most absurd levels of idiocy, they blow past that mark and totally outdo themselves.

The only thing that family deserves is a royal kick in the balls for even thinking about requesting such an absurd thing.

The dark side pays much better.... and no one is looking to make it a news story. He really is a 2nd generation (for the most part) Mr. Clean. A lot of well known shady families all over the world have them.

:-)

So clean that he's not had any contact whatsoever with his murderous fugitive father at any point in the past 7 years.

Agreeably, he is cleaner than Pops, but that's not saying much when the bar for cleanliness is set that low.

Regarding the current stage play known as a police investigation those who might have aided and abetted Somchai, it was laughable to read that the the kamnan of tambon Samet, Winai Ponpaiparn, who was with Somchai when he was taken down, testified yesterday that that fateful day was the FIRST day he had even become aware that Somchai was in Thailand.

cheesy.gif

Unsurprisingly, the driver of Winai's Lexus also similarly testified that it was the first time he had also discovered that Somchai was in Thailand.

The third person in the vehicle, a nurse, did not testify yet as the police were initially unable to locate her.... because she was not at the address on her registered house papers. The Keystone Cops have since managed to find her and scheduled her testimony for later.

Let the comedy show roll on.

Anyway, look forward to the soliloquy of testimony from the main supporting actors Ittiphon, Narongchai, Sonthaya, Wittiya, when get to testify that they just happened to miss Somchai's presence at the family mansion in Bang Saen during all their family visits for 7 years.

Well for someone who's trying to remain discreetly anonymous he's hardly likely to order the driver to crash straight through the entrance without stopping is he.

Quotes got me again. I wish one of the mods would tell us how to prevent this.

It worked for Samak.

I didn't know he was a member mate.

Good one. About half the time I use this iPad and sometimes it has a mind of its own especially when I copy and paste.

Thanks for the reminder that Winai's Lexus made numerous trips to the hospital in Bangkok before the eventual day when on one of the trips it resulted in Somachai's arrest.

That shoots a gaping hole in Winai's testimony yesterday that the first he knew of Somchai in Thailand was on that day when Somchai was taken into custody. :ermm:

Somchai's nurse, Walai Kwanjit, testified today with the Crime Suppression Division (CSD). In her testimony she claimed, similarly to Winai and the driver, that the day he was apprehended and arrested was the first day she had first became aware that he was even in Thailand.

She claimed that on that fateful day, she had been hired to accompany Somchai to the hospital in Bankgok.

Seems to be a lot of clueless people about. Lucky the recruiters were able to get a team together at such short notice. I hope they were paid.

I'm surprised actually that Somchai didn't get police escorts to and from the hospital all those times.
