Health Insurance...experiences?

Featured Replies

i currently have health insurance in my home country, but since i'm staying in thailand i'm thinking about getting a local insurance company here which is more convenient than always sending bills overseas and then stay on them to send the money back. not that its a lot but especially the smaller doctor bills (like flu, etc) just take ages to get back and are sometimes not even worth it in the end. so i was looking at http://www.bupathailand.com ..does anyone have any experience with them? :o

Bupa is good, but not the same in Thailand as in the west. If you go to your home country once a year keep your insurance from Their. The insurance companies in Thailand does not pay for everything. They do not pay for physicals, inoculations, eye examinations etc. I have Bupa Thailand for myself and my family. It is based on your age, and you have your choice of coverage. I pay 60,000 baht per year for myself and my family of three. They cover a maximum of 500,000 baht per illness, and 4000 baht for accident.

BUPA is good, I have cover for my Thai famliy with them.

Be aware of the small print that reduces cover for motorcycle accidents to 50%.
