Just filling out the paperwork for my wifes "Sponsorship of a spouse" for us possibly moving back to Canada come september if my work permit here in Bermuda is not renewed.

If I recall, Steven Harper and the rest of the pirates talked about cutting the head tax for immigrants - anyone know if and when this happens?

Adding it up, its pretty pricey. $875 CDN + $75 CDN + ... I know its the start of canadian taxes but I would love to get away with not paying it if I can especially when in the last election the bunch of crooks decided to get rid of it.

Parliment resumes in April, look for it to be dealt with by June. You can make your application without paying the "Right of Landing Fee" upfron so long as the other visa fees are paid up. When a decision on the visa is made you will be asked to pay whatever the current ROL fee is before the visa is issued.
