"zb Block" (Anti Spam Software) Blocks True Corp

Featured Replies

"ZB Block" is a PHP-package for protecting forums from spammers and other abuse. It is fortunately not used by ThaiVisa.

We all know the abysmal situation of Thai internet security. There are viruses and trojans just everywhere and lots of spambot nets. And because of this, "ZB Block" now blocks all of TRUE'S IP numbers. Try it yourself, if you are on TRUE (or another ISP, out of curiosity):

http://www.spambotse...com/zbblock.php

Now many forums are no longer accessible from Thailand.

See here:

The detected reason(s) you were blocked are:

Bothost / Fake ISP (HN-0040).

Your IP, Domain Name (if resolvable), the referring page (if any), QUERY, POST, User Agent, time of access, and date have been logged and flagged for admin review. Please either 1. Stop the bad behavior, or 2. Cease accessing this system.

The webmaster of this site has decided to provide you with an e-mail link to start a trouble ticket about this block.

Please do not change the beginning of the subject line, nor the preamble of the body text.

There was one of the well-known European Spam lists that decided that if one ISP had an IP throwing out spams, they'd block the whole ISP, an attempt at forcing the ISP to take action, while penalising all the other domains under that ISP who were properly protecting their IP range. This sounds like a similarly witless situation.

Bit heavy handed if you ask me.

We all know the abysmal situation of Thai internet security.

actually no... what is worse in Thailand than elsewhere?

Rampant OS piracy and the resultant lack of patching for a start.

oh, I see - but that doesn't impact my machines.

And that doesn't impact "We all know the abysmal situation of Thai internet security.".
