Is it possible to rent kayaks on Tarutao or Ko Lipe? I don't want to spend the high prices that the tour operators want (even though I'm sure they're quite reasonable for what you get).

Also, do the kayak tour companies have offices at Pak Bara (maybe I can negotiate with them face-to-face)?

Hi Andy, I have just come back from Lipe yesterday, i have been in Thailand for around five years and Lipe and surrounding area was the most fantastic place i have ever been (by a long shot).

Yes you can hire kayaks on Lipe, not sure about the price but i guess will be cheap. Go to the beach opposite Kho Krah and get one from there.
