The problem I've got with the word "exclusive" is that it generally isn't too far ahead of "Elitist". That said, The Underground is the sub-forum I enjoy the most nowadays.

You've got to give BM some credit. He's been using this forum for years, longer than many posters here. I reckon he won't bother posting any political <deleted> here as there's simply no audience for it.

So have we reached a conclusion yet about admitting Boony?

If not, i have been having a little think (yeah, yeah, now my head hurts) How's about in future (or we could try it now, for admitting Boony). We are a democracy, so just start a poll (and pin it) with the name of the person being nominated and and keep it open for a duration, of say 5 days and simply vote Yes or No. You can post your reservations about letting a particular person in, or you can just simply log your vote?

Is this a bit too simplistic? What do you think?

I like it how it is. Boon was seriously thought about for initial invite, but at the time he was posting like a feverish dog in bedlam and not listening to anyone of the many posters asking for him to pack it in.

We can't invite someone in here and then kick them out if we decide we don't like them. If someone gets the invite its through acknowledgement of their entire body of posts, a tip of the hat to some good work. A place to really relax and shoot the shit. I don't think the boonster can relax.

Geez, bring Boony, Butterfly and Torny in here and we will have Bedlam, Part 2, going on in here. I am vehemently against that one. Not to mention that Butterfly is an avid Teak Door member. Might it be a good idea to let Teak Door members into our inner sanctum? I know that we have long since been found out and are no longer a secret because of some traitor in here but that doesnt mean we should just blow the place wide open.

I dont have a problem with any of these people but I think we need to maintain a cap on the amount of people we let in. Just my personal opinion. Maybe we should have a pole of our members and ask them if they think we need a cap or not. Majority rules.

I think that might be a bad idea. There is no promise that the underground members will always be around. If enough people stop posting we might want some new blood in here to spark things up. What if the underground members really like someone new to the forum(new as in the at least got into Bedlam) then a cap would prevent that.

Perhaps from here on out the forum becomes more exclusive. How about requirements for memberships, backed by a vote of the underground members to allow said person in.

Example: New guy has at least 500 posts, no warnings, and has X number of currently active underground members vouch for said new guy.

Then, it's put to a vote by all the other members, who would have X amount of time to vote.

So, the new guy has to have backing from members before the vote even takes place. So, they new guy if voted in will in a way be backed twice by the forum members themselves.

The problem is that anyone could suddenly become an arse, get the Spanish archer (El Bow - geddit?) and start trapping off. I wonder if a reasonable option might be that if anyone really needs to be kicked out and things become public, it is simply made known that The Underground is by invitation only, so no invitation - no entry. Hopefully, it won't need to get to that stage.

And as regards Boon Mee, I've got no problem with him (although the politics bores me, sometimes). If he comes, you'll get no objections here.

I only mention number of posts because it shows a certian level of comment, meaning that if brought in the Underground they will post. However, if we leave everything to members vouching for an Underground newbie and the others voting then number of posts could be ignored.
