This is the view from my back windows.

With a little imagination, I could say I live next to Stonehenge in the UK.

Sorry to be negative but this garden at Nong Nooch is one ugly piece of Landscaping. But that is only me no doubt.

I went there years and years ago with my first wife and her mother. We used to do these Wat - Crawls and we went there but they would never tell me where we were or where we were going or where we had been . (Don't tell the falung too much). Now finally i know where i have been except i remember it as being really dirty with rubbish everywhere. And a river or a lake and a real picnic/party place. A real "Once i was lost and now i am found" moment . Thank you TP1.

Xen, I had the same experience like yours, about 6 years ago.

The place was a let down.

But it has changed completely.

No more picnic allowed on the grounds.

And the restaurants have really improved.

Look what they build in the past 6 years.

I remember feeling it was a special place though -I will certainly be going back to Phi Mai sometime. It is quite a pretty town as Issan towns go .

The statue is of King Rama V.

attachicon.gifDSC_0373.JPG

With that hat and how he holds the sword more likely King Taksin.

Where did you take the photo?

I rest my case......I can never be any wrong with you.

It's King Rama VII.

It is taken in the grounds of Sukhothai Thammathirat open university, in BKK, where my g/f is a student.

And before you call me a dirty old man.......she is a mature student, 41 years old that she likes to study and get degrees.

For what? I don't know.......but if she's happy, I'm happy too.

We went there as she had to attend a 2 day seminar, while I was spending my day in a taxi trying to go somewhere.

By the time I reached my destination it was time to come back.

The only good thing is that we stayed in the uni lodgings, a very nice airconditioned room with all the facilities, and costed me 450 Baht per night as she is a student.

Can't complaint too much......................
