I love the symmetry of this lone palm against the evening sky as I walk the dogs at sunset. Shot with iPhone this evening.

This is definitely one of the better looking Monk homes that I have seen,

awesomely located at the top of the mountain, surrounded by trees.

Palm trees in my front garden:

And here they are in a video screen-grab from 7 years ago, when they were just little babies,

in the rain, before they turned my bright sunny garden into a doom-laden, dark, no man's land ohmy.png:

I remember the first tree I ever saw with the multi coloured ribbons was in Walking Street (Pattaya) back in '86 . Gave a nice little bend in the street but everybody respected the "spirituality" of the tree back then . I don't know if it is still there as it has been a few years since I have been to visit the circus in Walking street .

I am guessing this was this taken around Burriram , ?

Lots of coconut trees!

Actually first shot with Canon 7D camera, that a friend gave me the other day! plus three lenses...thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif (he switched to Nikon)

I am going to be busy experimenting, as soon as I get a new compact memory card from InvadeIT... My old 48 MG compact card only allows for about 5 images amazing how things have changed...wink.png

Taken from about 1/2 km away...

What we called Rubber trees in the west... don't see many, but when one does they are quite large! (Ficus ??? I've gone brain dead!)gigglem.gif

This would be easy to root, I must take my clippers down and get some cuttings! wink.png

Jimmy, it 's Ficus elastica unless it has gone through a cultivar name change. i am sure that will prompt your memory.

^ just don't plant them near a water/sewage drain pipe or house..Their roots are very invasive ..mm they are a pest in suburban areas in Aus.. but you probably already knew this !! :)
