Political Nerds...

Just wondering why those people who insist on discussing nothing but politics don't prefer to use a forum especially created for that purpose.. like The bearpit ? :o

That's the beauty of Thaivisa - room for everyone.

Even Madonna and (is it?) Britney Huston.

TM, get with the decade!

Its Britney Spears french kissing Madonna, not Whitney Houston :o

I haven't started any political topics here, I just respond to them, partly out of irritation, partly for fun.

But yes, point taken, tots, I'll slow down.

politics :D has ruined what once looked like it would be a good forum :o

Well you very rarely see me join in these political discussions but I come to the defence of the political discussions in Bedlam.

This forum was created specifically so people could discuss what they wanted, and when people do, the other members seem to want to install their own rules about what should and should not be discussed in here.

It's the members and not the admins or mods that wants to restrict the freedom of speech/choice here which is a shame really.

If you feel the political topics far outwiegh the non political topics then even the balance by starting more of your own non political ones. Simple really. :o

The thing is that this section has become choked by the political stuff... start any other topic and Boon Mee will prolly manage to find something about american politics to post and that'll get the others started !! :o

But isn't Madonna that horsy Mum who falls off while hunting on her estate?

Been doing that for decades -me.

Because the forum owner is a right wing lunatic who is confusing his opinions with freedom of speech. And the fact I don't like to "sponsor" casino gamblers and internet spammers (the industry to which Phil belongs)

What ??

You mean you can't handle his arguments and points of views, so you have to come and post in a soft area !

Thanks TM! You are only as old as you feel, and I have decided that I still feel pretty young (of course, my husband thinks I feel pretty young too :D )

And gosh TM, didn't she fall off the horse last year? This year its the retro Farrah Fawcett hair thing and spandex :D

And I'm with BKKmadness on this one, if you don't like the political topics come up with something more interesting. Like, what do you think of Madonna kissing Britney Spears? Or the whole Farah Fawcett spandex look? :D

I wish it would be that easy. It's more like if you don't agree with him and his monkeys, he will find a silly "pretense" to ban you without following his own board rules. All "liberals" have been banned. Now the place is sandbox for Bush worshipers. No debates, no constructive arguments, only a few insults flying once a while. Why do you think Boon Mee and friends (Porkie) come over here instead to "bait" liberals ?

Hmmmm... what stops people from having more than one identity in that forum.. something you know about from this forum right ? :o

totster :D

BTW - do a check up!

The frontpage of Bedlem has 20 threads.

10 are political - 10 are not.

What's the problem?

I think you are confusing me with someone else. I have only one identity on this forum.

It's just that moderation is so blatantly biased that it's no fun posting there unless you're a neocon foaming at the mouth or at least a proud US-citizen. :o

In other words, zzap, Butterfly and their ilk can't win an real argument against John L., Solo Nav and the big boys on the Bear Pit so they scuttle over here with their tails between their legs and whine about the moderating over there! :D

:o

I'd say it's Boon Mee and his "ilk" who "scuttle over here" to spout their propaganda and irritate people, they're bored preaching to the converted in the pit. :D

Kinda supports what's been said earlier: All 'Liberals' and 'Euro-lefties' have been banned by the nut-job admin or left in protest. :o

The very same nuts and trolls who have been banned time after time by Thai Visa.

What a strange coincidence! :D

The problem is some whimps can't handle a good political discussion.

Thing is, life in general is politics whether you realize it or not. :o

Actually, never.

One long suspension on TV though. :D

And you are posting under Ulysses G because ? :o

The same reason that zzap is zzap, I would imagine. :D

Is zzap the Gent?

Where is that boy? :o

Push your button topics - its hard not to respond! However when you think about it, its all a waste of time because our opinions are pretty much set in stone before we even post.

He wishes. :o

That's the understatement of the decade! :D

But yes, your "choop tooit" saved you from being banned many a times... :D
