Somewhere To Get An X Ray At A Reasonable Price

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I think I may have cracked a rib and need to get it checked out.

I don't have any insurance (unless you count whatever it is that comes with my SCB account) and funds are tight.

I live in Thong Lor, is there anywhere I can get an X Ray and some decent advice at a reasonable cost anywhere near to me (I think even Camillion may be a little expensive...surely a small clinic would be cheaper?)

Thanks all for your advice!

Don't no where thong loor is , but here in Isaan phakam was only 200 bath for X-ray my shoulder 3 month ago !

Xrays are inexpensive anywhere.

Camillian would be a good choice for reasonable price Xray and consultation. St. Louis Hosp would be another.

Bear in mind the Xray is only with the skill of the person reading it. It is worth paying a small amount more to have that someone be an ortho specialist as opposed to a GP at a small clinic.

Just a thought, but if you're worrying about the cost of the x-ray alone, then how would you be able to afford the actual treatment, assuming there is any ?

That said, Camillion is one of the cheapest around, although you may be waiting a while.

Many would regard a single rib injury to be a clinical diagnosis

An x-ray would not be indicated unless symptoms other than localised pain were present.

Even if an x-ray demonstrated a damaged rib it would not alter the treatment which is based on analgesia (simple pain killers) and regular deep breathing exercises. Some Drs will offer injections of long acting local aneasthetic if the pain is particularly severe.

Be aware that the pain associated with chest wall injuries often seems to become worse before improving a process which can take up to 8-10 weeks.

Do not be tempted to "strap", Tape or bandage your chest, as by doing so, you will increase the risk of complications.
