Oscars For Osama

... I would have thought "Team America - World police " would have been up for an oscar this year

Sadly, not this year as the Oscars are currently under the control of the radical left-wing bleeding-heart, commie sympathizer, moonbat, terror-appeasing crowd George Clooney hangs with! :o

The one and only Ann Coulter smacks down Hollywood:

"In case you missed the Oscars last Sunday night, here are the highlights:

• Best song went to a musical tribute to the overseers of human sex slaves, an occupation known as “pimping”;

• best picture went to a movie about racism in Los Angeles;

• best supporting actor went to the movie about how oil companies murder people; and

• best supporting actress went to the movie about how pharmaceutical companies murder people.

Curiously missing from Oscar night’s festivities was any reference, even in passing, to the 150,000 brave Americans currently risking their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. "

"On behalf of red state America, let me be the first to say: “Screw you, Hollywood.”

The one and only Ann Coulter smacks down Hollywood:

what a wonderful woman - it amazes me she has yet to tie a bandanna around her head , heft the m60 , and head over to sort them sand niggers out.

Hence, Coulter lamented her recent reception at Colombia University: " the Coloumbia Muslim Jihad ... The Jihadists were very angry ... their main beef with me seems to be that I'm a racist warmonger "

Ann Coulter , New Yorl Post , December 8, 2001

Need to make a movie of this patriots life - with Whoopie Goldberg in the starring role ...

not missing her ethical lawyers role in represtenting Paula Jones' best interests

Yeah, but her comments re. the Oscars hit pretty close to home.

Songs glorifying pimping - no reference to 'our boys' in Afganistan and Iraq... :o

If you liked the politics of last weekend's Oscar nominees, you'll love "V for Vendetta."

It's an exciting, quality Bin Laden film

vforvendetta3.jpg

Natalie Portman, Guy Fawkes Mask-wearing "V" Are Terrorist Heroes

"Based on the graphic novel series of the same name, "V" comes complete with all the bogeymen the far left loves to hate: NSA spying and wiretaps; government renditions and torture complete with Abu Ghraib hood fashions; lecherous, elderly Christian clerics in collars raping young girls; Islam, gay rights, and free speech under attack; and even a Bill O'Reilly-esque evil cable talk show host/wicked pharmaceutical billionaire/heinous military officer combo rolled into one character."

Read it all here :o

Boon Mee, usually I don't bother getting involved with your posts, but I have to ask have you seen the V for Vendetta film or book? Do you agree with the writers opinions in that article?

Have to admit that when I read a movie reviewer's opinion that goes like this: ..."if you're like the rest of mainstream America--you support our troops, believe in firmly responding to terrorists on our own shores, and/or respect Christianity--then, don't waste your time at this piece of garbage masquerading as a superhero movie. It is anything but." - it sorta puts me off going to go and pay to see the film... :o

And that's a very poor review of the book/movie, totally missing the point of it and whether you support the troops or not wouldn't effect how you view this film. In fact for the reviewer to make that point is incredibly dumb, although perhaps not as people seem to be taking her word as gospel and re posting her article and web address round the net.

As a further fact someone could quite easily say, and be more correct in suggesting that if you didn't follow and at leat partially agree the 'heros' opinions in this book/movie you would in fact be a supporter or Nazi practices in Europe.

The review she gave was in fact a piece of crap Boon Mee, which looks like it'd been written just to get a reaction, but without much thought or knowledge of the work.

I'm thinking it might be time for you to read the books and watch the movies you comment on, repeating someone else's opinion when you don't know if they are wrong or right seems very misguided to me and shows a he11 of a lot of blind faith. A little stupid no?

Anyway, don't take my word for it, read the book, watch the film, and then you could make up your own mind and have your own opinion about it.

Well, contrary to popular belief, I do attend films/read lots of stuff from both sides of the 'asile' but can honestly say that the last flik I saw to accurately portray the War On Terror was a long time ago: 'Little Drummer Girl'

One develops a knee-jerk reaction to anything that comes out of Hollywood these days as being blatently sympathetic to the enemy vs. our troops.

I'll check out 'V for Vendetta' and get back to you. :D

Right. So...what did you think about We Were Soldiers? The Patriot?

And regarding the movie (even though the topic-title is way off, as usual when Bon Mee and his playmates starts to throw dirt around), the main point is that everything is related.

You wouldn't agree?

Right. So...what did you think about We Were Soldiers? The Patriot?

We Were Soldiers was probably the best Vietnam film since Apocolypse Now, though the latter was more a fantasy based on some real characters. I liked the way it (WWS) tried to portray soldiers on both sides rather than the old "we the good, verses they the bad" stuff that characterises most war films.

The Patriot was good in its historical accuracy of most of the events, and superb battle scenes, however its was badly one-sided in its depiction of the Americans (good) and the Brits (bad).

It's called realism. :o

'Throw dirt around'?

By that, do you mean calling a spade a spade?

'Everything is related' is one of those touchy-feelie expressions that don't define nothing... :o

And again you don't answer any direct questions.

Why are you even here?

Right. So...what did you think about We Were Soldiers? The Patriot?

Missed The Patriot but thought We Were Soldiers was excellent.

The scenes where the NVA were directing their operations balanced the movie quite well.

We Were Soldiers was made a long time ago.

My initial point re. the crap outa Hollywood these days is just that.

Terrorist-appeasing crap... :o

'2002' isn't a long time ago. I got it on DVD, a recomended buy.

But I fail to see how the movie in OP could be 'terrorist-appeasing'. I'm not sure you do it either since it has been indicated that you haven't seen it either?

Haven't seen it either but will check it out later when it's off cinema.

Only one mired in the far-left fever-swamps could view the movies Paradise Now & Syriana as anything other than terror-sympathetic... :o

The movie Apocalypse Now was an adaption of the book Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad which was a work of fiction (no doubt influenced by his travels).

And the movie 'Full Metal Jacket' was based on what a US Marine could expect if he served around the time of Tet.

Syriana is not a terrorist appeasing piece.

It actually show a modern ME prince who want to "modernize" his country using western standards

He is stopped in his progress by the greed of American oil interests who are too happy to keep things as they are, that is breeding terrorists so the prince is too busy to see American companies from massively profiting (or stealing in this context) from his land.

So how is that appeasing terrorism ? I think you meant "Patriotism", actually "US Nationalism" in your case, that is to deny anything that is remotely critical of America or American interests. American interests is to alienate the world where there is oil. It's that simple and the movie did a good job portraying the greedy american corporation and the hypocrisis of the US administration.

Once again you showed your ignorance and how little you know about the world.

Syriana is not a terrorist appeasing piece.

"Syriana" paints Islamic terrorists as nice people who had to do it because we made them lose their jobs on the oil fields, so they had to turn to extremist Islam and homicide bombs.

What are you smoking these days, Butterfly... :o

Last I checked Syriania, Farenhiet 911, the Clintons, Al Franken, etc, etc, etc... were all American. I can't see Boon denying anything remotely critical about them :o

Nationalism and partisanship are different things.

Hopefullt the film is as good a standard and true to the graphic novel. :D

madness~

We can't be talking about the same book/movie here as more and more reviews (the movie has not yet come to my local) are coming out like this: "The book upon which it was based was an anti-Thatcherite tantrum on paper. It has seemingly been "adapted" to suit the Abu Ghraib, Gitmo, anti-America crowd, because it continually regurgitates 9-11 related imagery, both rhetorically and visually. The central theme of the film is obvious: fight the power, destroy the establishment."

"Buildings are symbols, V tells a haunted young woman named Evey (Natalie Portman), after saving her from some vile, rampaging cops: "Blowing up a building can change the world"

Man...I dug this kind of stuff as a young student at UC Santa Barbara (BofA Building burned down twice) but sooner or later you gotta go out and get a job... :o

Are you reading publications with a varied political point of view though?

The National Review, Soldier of Fortune, American Spectator, Oil Traders' Weekly, and Guns & Ammo may be slightly biased against the movie :D .

hahaha !!! this is definitely NOT "Syriania", and what movie would that be, Boon Mee ? Faux News, The Movie ? :D

Be a man, go watch the film, it's not portraying any terrorists. The only terrorists in the movie, is the Pentagon and even them are "negatively" portrayed in the last 10 min of the movie.

You work on oil rigs in "hostile" environments, right ? so you should be "manly" enough to "take" Syriana. Go see it, you might learn something :o

Syriana is sitting on my desk along with Brokeback Mountain and a bunch of other very popular Commie/Gay/anti-American movies.

I will watch anything! :o

I've watched it once and enjoyed it.

Even almost shed a tear when one finds out that one of the cow-pokers is dead, however, if I had gay inclinations as you are implying, I would readily admit it, not slither around hinting at it like you do concerning you and your ladyboys. :D
