i just hope the best for you!

You want to start farming when you retire? That's very hard work for a retiree. Are you sure you want to become a farmer?

Not sure if anyone has pointed out that if you are on a 'retirement visa/extension' you are not legally allowed to work (not even as an unpaid volunteer).

Oh, and farming is a restricted occupation for foreigners....

Good luck

But it goes on.

  • 4 weeks later...

Btw there is many land which can not be transferred for x years because When land originally for farming is upgraded and given by the gov to the residents they are not allowed to sell from the transfer date for a period of normally 10years. This is meant as an anti corruption method, ie stopping deals between land department officials and farmers to upgrade and sell under market value to the land dep officials family or biz links. It still happens; but that's the reason anyway.

So your wife may well be telling the truth.

If your concerned then just get an independent lawyer to check it.

Don't let it ruin your marriage before knowing all the facts.
