As the crow flies, I live less than 100 KM's away from Kanchanabury, in the "boonies", so to speak. Looking for a long term rental situation outside of the Tourist-Main stream (Hotels). Will be there only on weekends, but still would like to rent on a monthly basis. 1 room, very basic. Strictly Thai-Neighborhood is no problem and even desired.

Internet connection might be a problem under above descibed circumstances. Some "Input" very welcome.

You could look on the Pruksarkan estates, we lived on No. 3, rental prices 5,000 per month 2 year ago, don't know now. Situated on edge of Kanchanaburi on way out to Saiyok but easy enough to get into town. As you drove into No 3 you turned right at the mini roundabout but if you turned left plenty of places there and the estate the other side of the PTT station. Best way is to drive around and look for signs on the gates.
